Back to the Butterflies this evening and a rather tatty looking Silver-washed Fritillary on the white Buddleia in my garden

A species that has been conspicuous by it’s abscence this season, good to see one or two this week.

A species which I find difficult to get clean shots of as it usually rests on leaves or the ground. Happy to catch this one perched on a stem of grass!

Delighted to find a new location this weekend, very close to my house house with a good selection of Butterflies including this Small Skipper. Good numbers of Small Coppers, Common Blues and a couple of ageing Marbled Whites too, as well as Meadow Browns and Gatekeepers.
